Infertility Treatment: Preparation
Infertility
treatment is a rather difficult period for a couple. But still
you should pass it with patience to achieve a desirable result.
First of all, it's important for you as a couple to compile medical history; thus, it would be surely rather helpful for your doctor to determine why you have an infertility problem and prescribe the treatment.
While assembling the information of you and your partner's health conditions, you should include the following components:
1) Gynecological history (how long menstruation lasts; whether bleeding is heavy or not; contraceptive use; if you have had any sexually transmitted diseases; whether you've had abortions or pregnancies).
2) Medical History. Here you should give information about any chronic medical conditions (for instance, hypertension, ulcers; therapy of cancer; asthma etc.) and any allergies to drugs.
3) Personal history. It's also rather important, because perhaps some of your infertility problems may be caused by your lifestyle and nutrition (e.g. dieting, the history of how long you've been on a diet and what the results of your diets have been, smoking, drug use, etc).
4) Family history. Very often problems with fertility are genetically explained, for instance, some of your close relatives have once experienced fertility problems. That's why don't forget to give your doctor information about any complicated pregnancies in your family; whether any of your relatives have had disorders etc.
5) Besides, if you have had any tests, or fertility treatments, include them to the file as well.
After you've collected everything it's a high time to start the treatment. Be sure that you have prepared yourself, following these tips:
1) Not to be constantly distressed and to have a proper treatment, begin it, being sure that it is all right with your timetable and you have enough time for treatment;
2) Don't forget that an infertility problem is distressful not only for you, but for your partner as well, that's why build a kind of a support system for both of you. Besides, some aerobic activities, or meditation, joining a kind of support group could be also rather good for you to cope with stress.
3) Treatment could be rather expensive, so try to find the most favorable prices to avoid high expenditures.
After the treatment have been started the next several tips would be rather useful for you:
1) You should drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every day;
2) You should eat 3 meals every day, which should consist only healthy products;
3) Write down the when and how long your period lasts; what kind of medication you take; the time of injection; all necessary information about tests, you have done (your lab name, when the test was carried out, results).
4) Try to involve your partner throughout the treatment. For instance, he could accompany you to medical appoints, or help to mix medications etc. You would surely not feel lonely and it will be helpful in coping with stress both for you and your partner, because you would know that beloved is near.
