Infertility Testing

Infertility TestingVery often women think that getting pregnant is rather easy, becaue nowadays there are a lot of things, which increase your chance to get pregnant, among which are improving your health and daily routines, aromatherapy, a natural aphrodisiac, herbs, etc. But still there are unfortunately cases when all this would have no success. Infertility is really a problem today, which face many couples.

There are different reasons why a couple experiences infertility. There are two types of infertility: female and male. Among female infertility issues there such problems as premature ovarian failure, PCOS or advanced age; to male infertility issues belong impotence, structural problems, and blockages. Besides women may also have problems with getting pregnant, if they have irregular menstruation disorders (for instance, amenorrhea), or ovulatory disorders (for example, anovulation). These disorders may signal that there's a problem with fertility. There are also cases when fertility problems occur, because of some prescribed and recreational drugs, you have taken. But unfortunately, there is a great number of cases when no explanation of infertility are given, that's why it's rather controversial to speak about them.

Nevertheless, there are a number of tests which could help you to find out whether and what fertility problems you have. The most popular are the following:

1) To check if the tubes are blocked you should undergo a test, called hysterosalpingogram (HSG). The test is carried out in the x-ray department of the hospital. After the test it is seen whether the tubes are open or not.

2) The results of a blood test Day 2 LH/FSH show whether there are enough eggs in the ovary and whether the hormonal system, which is responsible for the eggs release is all right. The hormones, which are responsible for eggs development and production are LH and FSH. For instance, if there is a high level of LH, polycystic ovary syndrome is diagnosed. This syndrome is a usual cause of anovulatory infertility.

3) Progesterone Test will help to determine if ovulation has taken place. This test is carried out 7 days before a menstruation. However, it should be repeated if a menstruation doesn't' come 6-8 days after the test.

4) Semen Analysis is also an important part of Infertility Testing. A sample of semen is being checked and the results show whether sperms are normal and if they are motile. It's rather important for a man restrain himself from sex for a few days before testing.

5) There's also a test, which determines rubella antibody levels. This test is necessary, because it shows whether the immunity is present or not and whether the immunization should be repeated or not. For future mothers this is rather important, because the immunization may lower the risk to get infection during pregnancy and thus prevent the any fatal possibility or defects of the future baby.
